Analyzing Zone-Based Registration under 2-Step Paging in Mobile Communication Network

In this study, we have considered zone-based registration (ZBR), which is the most widely adopted type in mobile communication networks. Based on a performance comparison between one-zone-based (1ZR) and two-zone-based (2ZR), 2ZR known to be superior 1ZR cases. However, existing studies of critical problem: The basic assumption that entire zone paged simultaneously when call arrives, whereas, 2ZR, by two steps. With these different paging schemes, proper cannot made. Therefore, analyzed adopting 2-step (2SP) such as for under equivalent conditions. This study also presents an analytical model assigning areas 2SP consists multiple cells. Considering mobility characteristics assumed previous presented movement among cells zone, obtained steady-state probability each cell using Markov chain calculate cost 2SP, ultimately calculated total signaling cost. Through various numerical results, it was observed that, adopts can many conclusion, both would possible reduce selecting better while considering traffic changes.
